How many cm. of snow is 1 mm. of water/percipitation

1 mm. of water is equivalent to approximately 1 cm. of snow. The amount of snow depends on the density, temperature and humidity of the snow.

If it snows in temperatures below 5-10 degrees below zero 1 mm. of water can turn into up to 2 cm. of snow, while wet and heavy snow near freezing gives a thinner layer of snow.
